No travel plans? No problem. How we're celebrating Memorial Day Weekend at Home
This Memorial Day Weekend, we hope you connect with the people in your life who you care about most, whether in person or virtually. Normally, we'd either be camping somewhere along the California Coast, barbecuing with friends or headed to Stinson Beach for some fun in the sun. While this year the holiday weekend looks a bit different, The Own Marin family has rounded up some awesome ideas to make the most of your holiday weekend at home to honor those who have served our nation and have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Get Patriotic at Home
Have fun with some chalk art, decorate with red, white, and blue, have a backyard barbecue and let your American flags fly to celebrate the heroes that have served our country.
Camp in your Backyard
Grab your tents, sleeping bags, s'mores, and favorite games for a night under the stars. Whitney recently did this with his kids and it was an awesome night to remember.
Opt Outside
While you should stay within walking or riding distance of home, it's safe to say there's an amazing trail nearby to get the family outside this weekend. Need a trail? Reach out!
Play all the games!
Break out your favorite board game, bocce ball, dominoes, cards, football, frisbee, or our latest favorite... Banana Grams! The weather this weekend will be too good not to enjoy some family fun outdoors.
Try a new Recipe
Looking for an awesome new recipe to make for the fam this weekend? Try Bon Appetit's Sweet & Spicy BBQ Ribs or Alison Roman's Salted Butter Apple Gallette. They'll change your life.
Don't forget the Aperol Spritz
Nothing says Summer quite like an Aperol Spritz. Mix two parts prosecco, one part sparkling water, a splash of Aperol and a twist of orange and you'll be made in the shade.
