Before & After: The Plumas House
The family's story behind 7 Plumas Avenue in San Anselmo is incredible, and we made sure this home was prepped with as much love that was shared here for generations.
There are always surprises when working with a 64-year-old home, but the character, history and potential inside is what made it worth the extra steps to bring 7 Plumas Avenue to market in its best light. We had just over a month to prep this house before hitting the market and the family really trusted us to lead the project from start to finish.

We wanted to save and restore as much of the homes original charm as we could, so we kept the general design and implemented a few cosmetic updates. The major changes were painting the interior white, lifting the carpet to expose the original wood floors and upgrading the light fixtures. We really wanted to keep the original stained glass in the front and back doors, so we chose complimentary colors to allow them to stand out when walking through the front door.
The Living Room
Objective: Make the first impression of the home stand out.
Once we painted the interior white and exposed the wood floors, the room completely transformed into a space that potential buyers would immediately fall in love with.
The Kitchen
Objective: Create an updated space for cooking family dinners and entertaining.
Dark cabinets and busy wallpaper only made the small kitchen feel smaller. By painting the cabinets white, upgrading the appliances, flooring and lighting fixtures we were able to make the kitchen look and feel bigger while maintaining its charm with the faux-wood original countertops and hardware.

The Master Suite
Objective: Create a bright, beautiful bedroom and bathroom
With high vaulted-ceilings and ample sunlight, we brightened the room with our favorite white paint, upgraded the carpets and styled it to appeal to todays home buyers.

The Bedrooms
Objective: Refresh the space and showcase the family-friendly potential
It's really amazing what a fresh coat of paint and incredible staging can do for a home.

The Studio Office
Objective: Create a inviting space for a home office.
Once used as a play room for kids became a storage space for many years. By painting the room, replacing the carpet and updating the light fixture we were able to create a usable, inspiring space to get things done at home.

With the home looking incredible, we strategized with our clients and decided to come on the market at $925,000. Within an hour of hitting the market our phones were buzzing! Even an editor from the NY Times reached out for an interview to feature 7 Plumas Avenue on the homepage of the national real estate section. A quick 7 days later, we received 4 strong offers and went into escrow at $1,015,000 with no contingencies.
The Million Dollar Question...
After we prep a home we always ask ourselves, do we think we would have seen the same results if the home was in its original condition? We'll let you be the judge.

A note from our clients:
"Your expertise and guidance throughout this process have been phenomenal, and have made a emotional moment in time so much easier.
I always tell my children to lead by their conscience and have integrity with what they do in life. You all are excellent examples of those truths. I have appreciated your help, professionalism, skill and most importantly empathy in every aspect of this sale. It was amazing to see my mothers beloved home turn into the swan that she always saw it to be. I wish you the best in all you do."
